hello all,
I'm new to this and was reading here about all the problems people are having with the engine. Before I start development, I would like to know which machine will work best for V2: a Win95 box at school with 32mb ram, 233mhz, and a locked down hard drive (i'd be working out of a network drive), or my home pc with Win2k, 196mb ram, 500mhz, and two drives, one NTFS, one FAT32. Which machine will be more stable?
-Thanks, Delta

Any win2k machine with proper drivers is infinitely more stable than any win9x machine. Period.
The P233 you mentioned will handle all the DOS versions without trouble. None of the windows-native versions will run well enough to be worthwhile. (with the possible, and notable exception, of vecna's winV2, and maybe winV1 as well)
Your home PC won't run DOS verge. win2k just doesn't do DOS. It's fast enough to handle all the windows-native VERGEs, though, so it's all gravy.
