Does anyone know how far(in feet) an 802.11g wireless router can reach? Also, do you know a good, reliable brand of wireless routers?

I don't know exactly how many feet, but it's more than 50. In my apartment building, from my room I pick up three or four (visible) wireless networks. I don't exactly know where they're at, but it's probably more like 100 feet.
I've been using the Linksys Wireless-G router as both a router, a firewall, and a wireless network with the Linksys WirelessG network cards with great success.

Cool, thanks. Linksys seems to be pretty reliable.

everything's automatic, and it's pretty much the standard.

I got a Linksys Wireless G router, as well as a Wireless G desktop adapter. Setup was easy and straightforward, and I get a really good signal(connected at 48.0 mpbs) at about 30 feet away through 4 walls ;)

Awesome, glad it worked for you.
Make sure you grab the latest firmware for the router, there are some security issues fixed in it.
There's also a recent Slashdot thread - someone created new firmware that allows you to do a lot more things, like bandwidth control and other stuff. I haven't tried it, but just giving you a heads up in case the official firmware doesn't do everything you need.
