is verge a discontinued project, or is it still being developed? looks like the last release of verge was a while back.
i think, if it is discontinued, you all should start developing it again. i have used other rpg engines, like sphere, rpg maker (rm2k, rm2k3, AND rmxp) and i gotta say, this one gives you the most control, and is the most compatible across different platforms.
it is a little complicating though, and you could attract more users by making more tutorials and stuff available. i think rearranging a few things on the website might make it easier, too.
just some pointers and feedback. :)
edit: oh and the forum... you guys should upgrade the forum to phpBB. it's a really professional (and open source) looking forum technology. i recommend version 3.0 RC3, even though it's beta. I use it on my website, and it's great!

Read some other recent topics in the boards, the problem is there has been no public release in a while. zeromus and I have been doing a fair deal of revisions, and I don't imagine there is much more that is necessary before we dump it on the public.

From past experiences with phpBB, I can say it has a fair deal of security issues, and a release candidate build is probably not a good call. Also, migrating the thousands of posts from this system to a new forum engine that isn't even final would be a fairly royal pain.

how often ago did you experiment with phpbb? i haven't experienced any security issues (yet...)
yea that would be a pain to move all those posts.
hmm, my only suggestion is organization. i understand how hard it is to manage a website (especially when you aren't getting paid to do all this), but with just a few minor adjustments, this site could be attracting many more users.
when time comes for a layout change, contact me, i'd love to help make this into a better website.

I would like to log in reliably! :D
Seriously, for the last couple months I have not been able to log in at all with Firefox, I can usually log in for a while with IE, and with Links I have to go to the special log in page, then use Back to get back to the post that I want to post in. If I log in and then reload the forum index immediately, it logs me out again.
A working files section would also be awesome! :D
Yeah, I know, you didn't ask me.
...
:D

Only barely enough to understand what you've asked me. ;) No, the name choice for Kildorf was made more than ten years ago on a whim the first time I needed a name - I was signing up for the a MUD a while after we finally got Internet access! :O Only later did I discover that it is, in fact, a real name.

i would HATE to have that name. my name is Näthan.
I ask not only because of the name, but because under your avatar it says "ein überadminen"

Oh! Hehe, no that's the title that McGrue stuck in for super-admins. It basically just means that I can make news posts and moderate the uploads and screenshots and so on.
But yeah, "Kildorf" appears to be a last name that happens to be rather uncommon. I was under the impression that it was of German descent (though I could be wrong); thus my confusion as to your question.

sounds familiar, a "Dorf" is a village. Might be the name of some old german clan or something.
