I have a great idea, why don't we set up a donation account where we can all put money towards hiring a coder to create tools for VERGE instead of waiting around for someone to be bothered or to finish their other projects?

Code

No, no, you have to put heart and soul into making tools for VERGE. Hiring someone to do it would just be wrong. It has to be a product of sweat, blood, procrastinated homework, and sometimes from the various crayons stuck in your brain.
Besides, I'm not so sure that anyone who visits the site has any money to spare. I know I don't, anyway.

You're looking for a Linux Maped, huh?

I'd be a bit worried about taking someone on from outside. Also, to make it worth doing for the money alone, we'd have to pay a lot.

Important

Maybe first have a list of what tools are in desperate need of creation / which extensions are needed for old tools. Listed in order of feasibility :D

Code, the ones with money to spare aren't philantrophic to the point of spending it on freeware things.

...although I have been considering comissioning cel art for the final version of Sully since the old girl needs a good splash of paint.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
