It has been suggested that this be resurrected from v2, saving all user-created global vars. This is mostly to remind me, but feel free to comment.

They allowed you to write to a file/restore from a file a all user-created vc variables (ie all global ints, strings, arrays, structs; not built it ones)

Used for game save or somesuch.

That's sorta useful, especially for savestate-like functionality. Would definitly make savegames trivial.

Overkill

Hmm, I've thinking about this. Would it be all that hard to make it also dump all the entities and map data? Since that way, it would get rid of the need to store all entities and current map data in variables just for the save [states?].

I think this would be highly desirable, but very tricky and easy to screw up.
