Not sure if anyone would find this valuable... and it's hard to justify adding a forum when just about everything fits under "General Discussion", but as someone who has written about game design for several years, I'd dig on a "Designer's Den" forum. A place for designers to talk about different design ideas, and how to implement them in VERGE. It would be a nice place to show off new ideas (a strategy battle system, or a class-less character development system, etc), and it would be a great place for me to flap my gums without it polluting the general board.
I'd even admin it, if so desired. Would that be valuable?

Possibly.
When the teams section is alive, team admins can create any number of private boards within them. It's my intention that this feature not only be used for actually gamemaking teams, but also for sub-communities of VERGErs.

WOOT!
Can we put up our own wall paper and hang our own curtains?
Hey.. and if it hasn't been said enough, thanks for speeding up the boards!

I have considered making it so that team/game sections can auto-force themes. This is something that will be dealt with when I actually get around to implementing them.
These features will be dealt with most likely in the weeks following the first fully featured release of v3. Until then I'll be busy with both my life and making the v3 packin game.

Ohh alright. I guess I can wait (I'm kidding, no worries!).
I guess that will give me some more time to release something worth a damn so I can get my avatar!
I've coded a lot, it just doesn't look like anything (literally) because there's no display code. It's all just data storage and manipulators. And I'm moving, so no coding for me for a little while.
When's the Mac port coming? I'll be PC-less for at least a couple months... hrm!

The Mac port will be on its way just as soon as Hell gets too cold for Satan, and he comes up here to eat all the PC users.

Actually the odds of a mac version are a lot higher than you think. But I wouldnt put my money on it.

yeah zack was interested in doing one, and the code isnt too terribly unportable. FMOD has a mac build, the video system is modular.... it'd be doable. but. its certainly not a priority of this dev team
... particularly considering i dont think any of us have macs.

Err... I'm not part of the dev team, but I'm writing this on a Mac.
I've also done some OpenGL work (like real OGL stuff, not just the nehe tutorials! hehe).
A Mac port would not be the suck.

No, a mac port certainly would not. However, the Mac itself would certainly be "the suck".

My Mac resembles that remark.
Perhaps the FAQ could include information about the graphics system... and I could dig into it, and see if I could redo it in OGL or something.
Maybe a "porting" doc from the Devs? The architecture, the components, the apis, etc.

I think aen has (or had) a large amount of format information written up. However, he recently has lost 6 years of VERGE work due to HD failure. ;(
