Yo. Talked about this a couple of times but only managed to realise it when I finally got my CD back from my brother. So, I've uploaded the 300+kb RAR file into the Verge-rpg downloads directory. There's alot of miscellaneous art, but also some portraits that you might find useful for game-making. They are ALL my work. If you'd like to credit me, you can use my nickname arias, or real name Hendrick Sukardi.
Here's a couple:
Never used in-game:
Hope it's of some eventual use to you guys.

Were all the locations going to have cards like that for the first time you went there?
Yup, but there were just way too many art assets needed. Even more important art cels, like the king introduction, never got made. I think only Emil got a complete pic, and Lumen had a mostly complete version.
Gren's right -- except for the fact that it was me who couldn't deliver ^_^; I spent about 8 hours on the Emil 'card' as Grue put it, and it was painstaking. I started work on the Lumen one, but the perspectives required a huge amount of work. I couldn't deliver =_=; This is probably mainly due to the fact that I am mostly a character artist rather than a background artist. But it was great fun trying to do it :)
As for Pixel Art, like Grue said, practice does help alot. Grenideer can tell you how awful my pixel art was when I first joined him ^_^; I think he himself was pretty surprised when I managed to deliver those quality menu portraits nearing the end of DD development. I worked my ass off for those, and playing Grandia for the PS helped my study of pixel art. It also probably helps alot if you have good foundations in line-art, and just drawing in real life.
Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
