Hey guys, sorry I couldn't get my game in on time. I suddenly had to go to Germany. :D I'm currently staying at the Von Steubann army hotel in Garmisch. I don't really have a lot of time on the internet, but I'll try to get my game out a little bit after I get back to the states, even though I won't be able to get in the HOV now. Jet lag sucks. The food is odd. Etc. etc. I wish I was able to play some of the entries in this last HOV, but I guess I'll have to wait. Danke.

Guten Tag Herr Blues Zodiakos, und willkommen in Deutschland :)
The food is odd? Crazy Yankees!. The german food is, without doubt, the best you can get in the whole damn world! Though, there are a few dishes you should avoid. But I won't tell you which. That you have to figure out for yourself :)
And it seems like you got lucky with the weather too. The forecast predicts a few sunny and warm days.
Edit: my spelling sucks.

I tried ordering a bratwurst. I was unpleasently surprised to find out that it was about 1/10th the size of what I was expecting. And it was surved on a small piece of hard bread. :/ What they call 'Salat' was... well, it had SAURCRAUT in it, for heaven's sake! ... having said that, I still ate it. I'm not terribly picky(so say the scales.)
I was originally staying at some castle palace thingy in Angelbachtel (Schloss Michelfeld), where it was rather sunny and nice (I don't like my weather hot). But now that I'm in Garmisch, it's kind of in the mountains, right by the Alps, and it's kind of cloudy, all the time. I'm going on some 3 countries tour tomorrow. It'll be fun, I HOPE.

I look forward to seeing the game - I have, without exception, had a good deal of fun playing every one of this HoV's entries. Now we just need to finish some of them...
On the subject of german food, the sausages are generally very good, but there are the odd few types that are just plain horrible, so watch out. :D

German food is insane! They have this one good stew, but other than that it is all wacky. For breakfast you have bread and nutella, for lunch odd sandwhiches. And then for dinner scary, scary things. The food in Germany is useless unless you drink beer ;) But I love the country to death. Europe is beautiful, hope you enjoyed your trip!

I'll probably be back in the states sometime on sunday. I'm making a kind of silent hill/parasite eve inspired game called Otherworld Manhattan, which will kind of be a lead up for a later game I have planned called Otherworld Never. Since I didn't quite make the HoV, and I have pretty much the entire game planned out anyway, I might as well finish it. It should be done in about a week after I get back. :D

I'd love to see someone implement the Resident Evil control scheme in a VERGE game. It'd be useless, but funny.

Hells no. :p
I take back everything I said about the Germans. I was a bit surprised though to see a fat, naked, man gyrating wildly to techno music while I was visisting Munchen/Munich (Maximillian's Square). The police arrested him shortly thereafter, but someone informed me that it was because his music was disturbing the peace. O.O
Other than that, I will say that the Italians definitely defeat the Germans as far as insanity goes. My tour stopped at what I thought was going to be a simple coffee shop. Surprise! The process was so complicated for purchasing food that most of the people on my tour gave up and went back the bus hungry. I went to purchase a simple sandwich from the bar thing and some lady started yelling at me (in German, not Italian!), and I found out that your had to prepay for the food. I went to do so, and they charged me about 2 dollars extra randomly. I go to actually GET my food, and they get me the wrong order, despite it being written on the reciept I gave them. Of course, it's not that easy to actually even give it to them, as 500 other people are vying for the poor person's attention, as the Italians obviously haven't been introduced to that fundamental cornerstone of american economics - the waiting line. Argh, it's enough to make your head explode. Someone else tried to get something from the salad bar... apparently you have to pay AFTERWORDS for that. The madness. Venice was kind of sleazy. I thought it was going to be cool, but... well... you'd have to see for yourself. I thought the boxer shorts with the genitals of the statue of david on the front were original, until I saw EVERYONE selling them. What a world.
Edit: My plane to the states leaves in about 12 hours I think. I have no idea what time it is there right now though. :D I have a whole document complete with VC coded to put in my game when I get back. I still need to somehow come up with a good 32x64 main character (for a description, read my topic in the art and music forum). Maybe I should break down and photoshop it manually. Sigh.
