Maybe this should go in the unmodded section? *shrug*
Hey. I'm new. *looks around like a tourist, waving his bit-stained hands in wonder* ooo ahhh...
Yeah, I like to mess around with code and make cool stuffs. I've always wanted to put the bits and pieces I came up with together into an actual game, which is why I was so excited to find out about Verge. It makes lots of things much less complicated, as long as you are willing to stay in the limits of the compiler, but hey! It's all good.
And beleive me, I'm just dumb enough to slog my way through an alpha version of this. The first mediums that I programmed games on were my old apple ][ back in hey day of Basic, then my TI-89, and then PocketC. If that doesn't constitute painful, I don't know what does. well, assembly, I guess. :P
So, yeah. I love da Verge. get something cool to show off after I get the hang of it.
When I do, I'll be sure to help out the dev guys on this. The faster this gets out of Alpha the better! (and the docs being finished and the Floats being coded etc :D )

Despite being in an alpha state, VERGE is still quite awesome. And, speaking from experience, I find that its advantages generally far outweigh its limitations, especially considering some of the libraries that people have been putting out.
Hope you enjoy yourself here, and I hope to see your something cool after you get the hang of it. :D
(Also, the idea of your hands being bit-stained amuses me greatly.)
Also, if you still long for the pain of ASM, VERGE can offer some downright confusing DMA to make even a perl scripter squeal with obfuscated glee... just as Feyr! ;)

It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
