Well, sort of...

I've uploaded a V3 port of the battle system from The Guy Who Mugged Me, an 48HoV entry Saij and I did back in 2000. There's not a lot of substance to this; basically you go through each of the 24 fights from the original game in sequence and try to win as many of them as you can. It is possible to win all 24, though it's potentially quite difficult.

The reason I bother at all is because I plan to use the basic outline of the system for something more... substantial. It was also a good opportunity to go through and get a feel for VC3. Of which, by the way, I'm a big fan. I look forward to seeing it after it gets cleaned up a bit more, since it's already way nifty as it is.

Man, we should start having a running count of how many people have returned to the public community.

heh. You know this is a great way to get people back, and once I'm fairly confident with verge's feature capability, I'm going to start a compo if the hov thing isn't ready yet

I plan on launching a great deal of the new site with v3's launch, including a weeklong "gettng to know you" HoV competition.

It will be a festival of VERGE, and when we conquer the world, this week will be a global holiday. All of the world's children will sleep lightly waiting for vecna clause to land on their rooves in his magical 1984 Dodge Omni pulled by his team of devvers.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
