So, the contact link on your site doesn't work. I was hoping to e-mail this, but I guess I might as well put it here.
I must say, as far as story is concerned, Diver Down truly lives up to the hype. I read over and over again how wonderful the story was, and, as someone who's spent a large portion of his life with stories -- RPGs, novels and poems alike -- I entered DD truly skeptical of whether or not your story would truly impress me.
It did.
DD strikes to the core of humanity much better than most novels I've read. Many people have said that it's a story "worthy of a major motion picture". In my opinion, it's worthy of being called literature as well.
I also remember reading that Phantasy Star 4 had an impact on your game design, and I liked getting that feel from the system and layout. I also liked, throughout the whole game, the general sense that the game felt polished (save for a few placeholder story cells, and some other piddly stuff not worth mentioning). This is easily the indie RPG that I have most enjoyed playing. I would also be able to list commercial games that I feel DD is better than, but that would take took long, and I'd have to dreg too many bad commercial games up out of my memory that I would rather remain forgotten.
I'm going to write a longer review with all of my thoughts on www.rpgdx.net, so look for that. I will also probably be posting the same review on my website, whenever I get around to finishing it.
Thanks a lot!!! I really liked the theme of the story and still feel that many video games skim over too much of the emotion and character in plotlines.
I've never gotten complimented that the game felt extermely polished though! I really wish I could've spent more time getting it to 'ship quality'.
Please let me know when you do get to that longer review - I love reading the comments of players who get through the game. For a while DD was the highest rated game on RPGDX, and it's still up there.
BTW the contact link on the official site DOES work on most of the pages, just not the main page. So for future reference you can get in touch with me that way. I've been trying to log into the ftp to fix that but I've been having problems. The subdomains have been messed up to. I might need to get a new web provider.
I put up the review on rpgdx. Unfortunately, my game only increased its RPGDX score by .1 points. Oh well.
I mean, I pretty much layout my little nitpicks in the review (temp art cells, a few menu things), but aside from that, the gameplay, plotscripting, writing and story are solid. It felt like you really did put a lot of time into making those aspects turn out the way you wanted them to.
Thanks for the great review. It's a good read. lmao at the "Mars needs women" comment! It's so true. I looked into tracking myself hoping I could possibly edit the mods and remove some of the unnecessary samples in this and other songs, but that never happened.
If anyone else is curious, the Diver Down rPGDX reviews are here:

It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
