Hey guys.

Just made a small console utility to convert your VERGE 2 or VERGE 3 map files to PNG files. Take a look here for version 0.1, and here for the current version, 0.4. Just drop your file(s) onto the exe (0.2 and up support more than 1 at a time).

I updated the exe after my 0.1 upload to work with translucency files and allow multiple file dropping, and then tried to upload an update, but I get this:

'ERROR, TELL GRUE THAT THE PARENT_ID WAS NOT SENT!'

New version 0.3 is done! It supports VERGE 2 maps now too. Details above.

This is utterly cool, by the way. I've been looking for some way of doing what MAP2PNG can do for ages for an automap feature in 'Perceptions.'

Now, not only have I implemented the automap but it looks very nice too.

Automap? That sounds like something you'd need to get the map data in-game for. So no problems with it or anything anyone?

Nope, it works fine even though I'm working with shitloads of layers at varying transparencies.

And the automap just shows a zoomed out view of the map with 1 pixel representing each 16x16 tile. The player is highlighted in green and doors are painted in by hand as red. Just makes navigating areas that bit easier.
