http://verge-rpg.com/files/detail.php?id=326
I'm quite proud of it my self. All the art is all me ^_^.
Does this deserve an avatar for me n Troupe grue?
(note: the options and load/save dont work on purpose)

Very nifty, the music is very entertaining and the speech box is pretty good looking :) However, the cursor is extremely distracting with its spinning animation and feels very out of place in the menu.. I'd recommend a static cursor or a slower moving one.

Very nice. I really like the textbox and the music. I gave them soldiers and stuff, by experimenting. Looks pretty cool.

Thanks all, we've also got a jukebox program with 8 songs (including the song featured in that menu demo) but its huge. If anyone would like it, let us know.
And I told him to change the cursor, but we couldn't figure out to what. I was thinking a bobbing hand. I agree that it seems out of place.
Anyone, appreciate the comments, expect more goodness, and always remember that I'm available to work on music for your next project :)

I dont really care for the graphic and I'll probably change it. but if your refering to the cursor speed, it's supposed to be slow... if it's going fast then you have a faster computer than me =p
I have it controlled by timer now, but I just wanted to say I didnt mean for it to be spinning wildly.

Worked fine for me :)
A few comments/suggestions:
It'd be nice if holding the cursor button made it continue moving after a pause on the selection menus, instead of having to hit it a bunch of times
It's a bit hard to read the right size of the text boxes when it's white on a light blue/purplish background, though you didn't have much text on that side of the box :) The soldiers area on the menu seemed fine to me though
Playing with the changing # of soldiers section made the music skip a few times. I restarted v3 and couldn't get it to happen again, my computer probably burped or something (it's lousy)
The size of that music file is huge!

Shut up. Any MP3's less than 192 kbs are inhuman, and make my ears bleed.
But I guess VERGE can't really get the full quality out of MP3's anyway. Anyone have a suggested bitrate, quality etc. for encoding mp3 that will sound good in VERGE?

Whatever do you mean? OGG's sounded the exact same in V3 as in my version of Sound Forge, and I have a, um, _nIcE_ speaker system and sound card. Is it different for MP3s? Not that I plan to use them.

Yes, ya'll win avatars. Email me them or links to them, please.
It looks real super-nice. And an intresting variant on strategy RPGs. I look forward to seeing more.
A UI-suggestion: When adding soldiers to a general, you might want a submenu with a full list of each type of soldier visible at once, so you can see the mix of a general's army all at once and alter it as the situation needs easier.

awsome, I'll email it once I finish writing this. And the idea is that theres only one type of soldier in each squad... but yeah that part could use some redesigning, I agree.
thx!

Also, you're going to have to resize that. Avatar dimensions are not to exceed 100x100.
