Hello there! I am sort of new. Well, new to the forums at least.

I have been utilizing Verge for the past year; by year I mean a month or so spread out over a year. And I enjoy using Verge due to its simplicity and results that can be obtained through its use.

I am currently working on a RPG. It is following in the roots of Chrono Trigger. The menu system has vast similarities and the battle system is currently pretending to be the same.

Anyway, I guess that is good enough for an introduction. Until next post.

Do you have any work-in-progress screenshots or anything like that? We'd love to see them. :D

Howdy, Raznar. It's always nice to hear about more people using Verge! From the sounds of it, you're liking it so far. If you have any questions, we can probably help.

And I agree with Kildorf, post some screens! :D

Screenshots, eh? I am currently doing a mass code overhaul in the hopes that it'll simplify things, when I get done with this I'll rustle up some screens.

Aw. Post some screenshots from the old version at least :( If there's anything that 11 years of VERGE have taught me, it's that holding back stuff is for fools. Fools! (which is why you can get the latest versions of verge and sully fresh from their subversion repositories!)

Image quality isn't as I thought it would be, but seeing as I haven't really worked the visual part of the game, it works out.

Menu System - There is an overlying selection menu that you can cancel back to, it switches between Items, Stats, Skills... etc.

Battle System - This happens directly on the map, you select targets and your characters move in and "attack" or use a "ranged" attack. Sully is my current Monster and Character stand in.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
