Just as a heads up, the new forums are probably going to use bbcode scripting instead of filtered html.

Although they won't be phpBB. Just the post filtering.

Any thoughts?

Overkill
I have no problems with bbcode. In fact, I think it's simpler to use than HTML (for urls and image linking anyway), not to mention it prevents XSS attacks to a fair extent by not using HTML.

But I have a question: Are the old forums going to be archived then, because converting about 4 years of HTML messages sounds painful.
