Hey everyone, just wanted to chime in here.
I've noticed the download of the PDF I created has been well received, but at this time I currently have no feed back on it. I want to begin work on version 2.0. This version will take longer to create but I would like it to be more than just a plain pdf. I would like to spice it up a bit with my spice weasel. So that's why I've come to you to get your current view on it and what changes I need to make and what I should add to give it that extra flavor. I would also like to work with the documentation writers to deliver this the same time they have the major changes to the Manual done. Like I have said before, I won't add to the documentation but something like pictures and stuff like that I think would help. Please let me know.
Thanks
SoulMaster

Please say you have some flashy program that will do all the leg work for ya. Also, I would likewise be interested in any feedback/suggestions you have for the main docs to make life easier for viewers etc. Of course, I can't actually do anything, apart from change the words. :)

Thinice is making a document dumping utility right now, btw. If it's a lot of work to make the pdf, perhaps you should wait a day or three?

Actually, it wasn't too hard to create the PDF. Like I said, it only took me an hour and half to create(While listening to 80's hits)
I would like to put actual chapters in the PDF. Right now it's just laid out in a row. I would like the PDF to look pretty. Right now it's not at the level I want to be at.
The one thing I will do is shrink the text and even it out on the pages.
I might make some minor edits to the manual as far as the functions and variable references are concern but information won't be taken out, just laid out a little more effective for the PDF.
I would like to see what Thinice puts out before I begin. If the dumping utility works out then I will use that for the PDF.

Zip: Currently it's not lacking in knowledge but the layout could use a little work which I would be happy to help with.
I will look at it tommorow and give you a better answer.(It's Midnight here and I am tired after having watched football all day) The manual is currently the best I have seen because it actually talks about programming and gives the engine specifics with detail. As an example, the Dark Basic Pro manual which is done by a small company was written poorly. They made it only a reference manual with the functions defined and very brief discription of that function. It doesn't get into programming nor gives examples of how to use those functions. That's why they are having to re-write it I guess :)
I will let you know what I come up with to help make life easier for the viewer.

I don't really have any suggestions for improvement, but in terms of feedback it's bloody great having an offline set of docs, so ta muchly.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
