Were you guys considering putting a bootup sound/logo whenever Verge3 loads, or atleast making an official set of these available? I noticed Shippu had a pretty cool one, and it got me thinking about that ;) Anyways, it would be a great way to acknowledge that a particular game was made using Verge3 and to give some credit to Verge3 where it's due...

Yes. There is a number of pack-in v3 intros. They come as Packed VC files. Basically what that means is a bunch of VC files packed into a packfile. The compiler can read code from packfiles, so this gives the ability to release libraries without releasing sourcecode.

I believe there is currently 3 or 4 different intros to use. Some use a few images, others use AVI files. They're all equally cool tho.

As Tat said, there are already several viable options out there that you'll see in the coming weeks... and vecna has even penned a 'suggested format' for intros to take so people can choose the one they like and drop it into their game with a minimum of vc changes.

The Startup sequence in the pending packin demo will... be somewhat familiar, though. >:)

Also: Shippu uses Zaril's intro, I believe.

Mine is the bestest. It's even better when it doesn't use grue's poopy green shifted one.

Cool, packed VC files are a great idea, as is having a few intros to choose from.
