Right, after this weekend I'm going to have a fair bit of free time. This is a good sign for me doing something for the contest, so I'm offering my service to people with projects.
Can give: Solid working experience with various bits of programming. What I tend to fall down on is Verge specific stuff I have yet to encounter. Notably, I have never even run maped3. I can't draw, but my pixel pushing is quite polished at the moment. I apprieciate, but don't compose music.
Want: To play second fiddle to a lead game designer. One man projects tend to die rather fast when you get stuck on something, someone else taking most of the responsibility would be a relief. I don't expect to play a major part in the game concept/design, but willing to offer whatever suggestions when asked.
By the way, if no one responds I will cry. :(

Hey, I'm in the same situation as you. I'd rather like to get involved in one of these short projects that only have a few days time to complete. I really must have missed the "Alright, everyone pair up!" meeting of the last HoV. :(

If I can get enough done on my main project to have something within the rules in time, I will be in on this. But probably not. I've actually been lagging a bit on work on it lately, because of the sheer number of CHRs I have to do at the moment. And doubling the resolution from the previous V2 version means everything takes 4 times as long to do. :-(

Right, back from camping in Wales (climbing Brecon Beacons and canoeing on the Wye), and have also stopped crying over the fact no one wants my help. Therefore, I'm obviously gonna have to try and do something myself even though this means getting organised.
I'd like to do a hyper SForce type game, but this would require:
-Another programmer. Someone who understands the way Buckermann thinks and can play with his code without their head hurting. Preferably Buckermann.
-Probably someone else to do map and level design. And story.
-A lot of art: either someone with plenty of free time to rip and format stuff or some kinda pixel god.
So instead, I think I'll do Card Combat the way it should have been last time. But with more dungeons. Of course, this also has problems in that it'll break McGrue's 8b and 8c rules, having no story and no maps (let alone tilesets). And I'm still going to need to learn a bunch of new verge stuff, so if you hang out in irc, expect to be bothered. Someone doing a bit of art ripping and formatting would be a help, and probably some playtesters later, but it'll basically be just me. This means organising myself. But don't worry, I have a plan...

Gentlemen!
You're just who I'm after! I'm in need of a musician, someone to help with a battle system and possibly a secondary general artist if anyone's interested.
Feel free to e-mail me if you're interested in some work. I've made a whopping amount of progress in the last few days on my HOV entry (everytime I close my eyes, I see nothing but Verge-C script burnt into my retinas. Argh!) and am looking for some guys to help out in what is already becoming a fairly solid project.
Hell, e-mail if you're just interested in what I'm up to.

I'd be interested in helping you out. Grue's email feature doesn't work, and I am too lazy to try and go into your profile and find your email, so I suggest you get on IRC. Its a good way to find people as a general rule.

Troupe! By GOD do I need MUSIC! Will you be in #Verge or #Vergehelp on sunday, around 11:00pm GMT (British time. America is about 6 hours behind)? I'd like to discuss the possibility of you banging out a quick soundtrack if you have the time and inclination.

I am in both #verge and #vergehelp about 12 hours a day, currently. I will make a special effort to be there Sunday.
And Grue, yeah, maybe it would be a good idea to make the site work. -_-
