I am thinking of making a Random Access file system (mostly for a read/write mode) if there is enough interest.
Would anyone use it and if you would what kind of features would you like it to have.

Er, could you explain what a Random Access file system is, exactly? I mean, I might have some sort of use for it if I knew what it was, which I don't.. Erk..

I can't think of anything I'd want it for offhand, but I'm sure I'd find a use for it eventually.

a random access file is a file that can be read or written to in any order (would be faked in Verge but I don't think that will be a problem)(any file could be opened as a random access file. barring other programs locking it)
you can basicly treat the file as a big array
I am thinking of doing this because I saw some people wanted a read/write mode and making a random access file would solve that (because all random access files by nature are r/w)

NO. I want a game. Preferably with fractals incorperated somewhere in the storyline.

Gannon: YES - either get on irc, email me zippedmartin @ pretty much anything, or IM likewise. There are several good things you could help me out with for the moment, and some larger project is likely to be on the cards later.

Groups: now there's an idea. Zip, you want to start something official? I mean, P7 and all, I'm sure there are things we could be doing that would work better with multiple minds working on it.

Yipe! Well, ok, what do you do? I might be in need of a tile/sprite artist. Coding and dialogue is always nice too. Sound effects / music is utterly ace.

I am best at coding and debugging. I also like planning.

Coding is ok, but currently the only one who can properly make sense of P7's main codebase is Zip. Large portions of it even I can't fully get my head round, and I coded it to begin with!
Art - in some shape or form - is what I'm really looking for but coding still has a place. How are you at conceiving and coding minigames?

You are bloody JOKING!
...
You'd BETTER be bloody joking! Unless Midsummer exploded in a ball of strobing light (and peach-flavoured cack) I will treat that as some sort of dig at my character. Or something.

It's very well, thanks for asking. I'll tell it you enquired. How are those chars coming along, by the way? ;)

They were hit by a large, zombie-infested spacecraft and are currently in intensive care with serious side-tracked-related injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery.
