I am looking over the File Functions, and I can't seem to grasp the first paragraph of the function where it says it will write over my file... Does that mean If I place the file in the folder and then open it, it will write over the file I place in the folder?

It'll only write over the file if you open it in "write" mode.

Opening the file in "read" mode, on the other hand, means there's no chance of accidentally writing over anything.
