This freezes my machine too. I see a black screen and hear music play, but there are no particles. Also, it's obviously stuck in an infinite loop because I can't alt+x out of it.
Buckerman, I think you hit the nail on the head. That's ingenious. I don't know if it's causing it, but I did indeed change the order of the hook functions in the last release. I have no idea if that is what is causing it, but it's very possible that my computer is JUST fast enough to process the particles before it goes into an infinite loop. If that is the case, changing MAXNUMPARTICLES to a lower number like 1000 probably WOULD fix it for someone's computer. Probably, setting it to a number like 300 would be better. If you have a faster computer, the autolimiter will automatically raise it to a prettier level. I don't think there is a computer that can run verge3 that would not be able to process that amount of particles. Also, one of the contributing factors is also that I chose one of the slower, computationally speaking, demos to start with.
