That's turning out to be one hell of a cool looking battle system, a god could well be coding among us. Buckermann, did you draw those non-creature graphics? Just curious as you claimed not to be able to draw... unless that was someone else who I have confused for you, in which case, never mind.

Of course not, why would I accuse you of such a thing despite the fact that Midsummer may take another decade or so before it's released? Of COURSE not. *cough*..

I'm just kidding ;) It's just that being a long time lurker in some online artist communities, I see people plugging their art and there's SO much refrain on giving cutting comments and critiques, as well as an extreme amount of ego on the artist's part, where he/she takes things too personally and does not see holistic, long term growth as the true aim. Ah fuck those fuckers.

You alex, on the other hand, are just plain hopeless. :D~

Well, hopeless is as hopeless does. I'm glad that you seem to appreciate my ability to take your extremely harsh criticism, and indeed vicious slating, of my labour of love in good humour. :D

Nope. Everything, except the cursors, the font and the textbox gfx, is "borrowed" from various sources. All the creatures (including monster and humanoids) are made by David Gervais and are released under a Public Domain license.
If there is interrest I can upload them to the files section. Besides all kinds of creatures, the file includes also many items like weapons, potions etc.

Buckermann; I strongly recommend you to change the tiles of the dungeon-like map to a lighter color.. or maybe its because I'm not playing so I can't see it well, but its interfering with the focus on the CHRs, it seems abit too meshed up together or something.

Alex : come on, I'm kidding! I know how hurt you are that England is knocked out of Euro04 :D Also, I really don't know where to find AAAA batteries. And am still waiting for you to send descriptions of the characters. :P

Alex

AAAA? Like I said before, are you sure AAAA batteries exist? You didn't just imagine them or something? :P
And yes, I forgot. I'm good at forgetting things. I'll send it tonight.

Buckermann

Today or tomorrow Version 1.5 should be ready for release.
here are the preliminary changes:

* First version of the Implementation Guide added. Not complete, but should be helpful for you nonetheless.
* 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 are now fully supported resolutions. 320x240 is also supported, but not with the included VSPs, maps, or icons.
* Tiles larger than 16x16 are now also supported. The Battle System in its current version uses 32x32 tiles and icons.
* Overhaul of most of the graphics.
* Conversation system added. With this system it is possible to display scripted conversations between the various units when certain circumstances are meet. See the Implementation Guide for details.
* Only one struct for the entities now. Previously there were two structs (TB_Char[x] and TB_Enemies[x]) which made the functions look nicer, but harder to use and which required two different instances for certain functions. Now I can slowly remove all redundant functions. May take some time.
* The enemy units will now remembers who attacked him and will often seek revenge.
* General AI improvement.
* Arrows. Shoot at a enemy and see the arrow fly toward its target. Or see the enemy shooting at you. Has some minor graphical problems.
* Some gameplay balancing done.
* Many small bug fixes.

Troupe

Thank god you didn't have all this ready for the HoV, we would have been crushed :D

This is turning out to be an incredibly awesome system, I'm very impressed. I hope with all the awesome implementation stuff you're doing for it we see some cool games with this battle system soon! Come on people, how much easier does Buckerman have to make it! ;)
