So after about 3 months of work, I have finally refinished Milk. [Click Me!] Most everything was changed except the story and much of the dialog. Here is what I remember of what I changed

-Winners (and people who can't draw) use 320*240
-The battle system has be reworked. It now more resembles FF5 (it has wait bars)
-New Tiles
-No more darin.chr, although I did use it as a template for new chrs
-Equipment
-Button config
-A hidden coder room that just plain sucks. It has 2 or 3 stupid jokes that you probably won't know how to activate. But oh well.
-Lots of bug fixes

So anyway there it is. In my never ending quest to try to make something way out of the scope of my abilities I'm probably going to be making a longer game out of this. Adding a coherent story and what not.

Looks cool so far. I'll play it more as soon as I'm done with Sully's last map.

Some initial things:
1) Hahn-style chrs are sexy! VERGE needs more! ;D
2) Sully 2 musics? :o
3) There seemed to be an equip bug. I dequipped and equipped several times, after which neither I nor my enemies ever could land blows.

From what I've played, it's pretty damn fantastic.

Not entirely sure about those map 'doors' that lead out to the overworld though. Looks kinda odd. Still, with a working item, battle, inventory and party system, plus magic, i'll live with it.

Like the Hahn based characters though. Takes me back to my V1 days :D

Glad you like it. Now if only I had this for the contest :p

Anywho yeah I'm fairly happy with the chrs I made (reworked?) I still want to redo parts, like the up animation and the complete lack of shading on peoples backs, but considering my previous attempts at chrs...

About the equip bug, thats rather odd, the only reason that would happen is if your hit and evade got raised to ongodly levels. I'll look into it.

Oh yeah, the music, originally I had a song I found in Decide as the battle music, this seemed to fit a bit better. I still have one Decide song in there, Which mostly fits. Mabey when I start making a real game out of this I'll get music made specifically for it. (Music that fits! Imagine that!)

In drolith with the guards to the castle, if you didn't add the wilderness guy before you talked to the crazy mage you can't get past them. They say 'Halt!' and Rhac says 'Halt!' then the game freezes. Judging from the code this looks like a bug? If you add touldon first, this isn't an issue and you make it into the castle just fine though.

Really nice work, kudos to the battlesystem especially :)
I'm sure you can achieve great things with this so keep on the good work!

Speaking of Great Things, Owl... where've you and Ratgash been?! :o

lurking in the shadows? hehe no actually we've been here but just quiet for awhile. Me graduating and Ratgash getting married kept us out of the scene for awhile, but progress of our game continues. I'm in the middle of porting our battlesystem from winv2 to verge3 and it's already running smoothly. Ratgash is porting the maps to verge3 and he's really pleased about the new improvements to the maped :)

Yay I don't suck as much!

Hmm thought I fixed that bug entering the castle. I probably blew up a text box or something. I'll check it out

I fixed the problem with entering the castle. Figured I'd upload the patch since it's a fairly show stoping bug. Just unzip it into the same dir

Few things,

BS:
You can attack your own team members (?)
Invisiblity doesn't seem to do anything (?)

GAME:
MORE! I WANT MOAR!

Attacking own team members - for the masochistic in all of us - i left it in incase I wanted to add a muddle status or something but for now it's just for hurting your self

Invisibility makes all physical attacks at the target miss. good for keeping mages alive.
