The Crappy Games Explosion (Also called Crappy Gamez Xplosion) is having its third run this weekend. Come join the competition this Sunday, from 3:00 EST until 4:00 EST. That's right, one hour to make a game, or games (depending). Any engine goes (as long as I can get it easily and it isn't something lame).

Show up, and join #crappygamezxplosion on irc.esper.net on Sunday. If you can't use IRC, or won't, upload the file somewhere and link it to me. Or depending, you may be able to send a zip over email as long as it doesn't contain exe or dll files.

So, come on, show some spirit! Compete with us. Good.

Sweet.
Any chance this becoming a Verge tradition?

3rd time?

I think that's more than enough to count as a tradition around these parts. ;)

Well, the previous two times were on the same day :D

I just realized I can't be home at 3 to 4 PM EST Sunday.
Any chance there is a fourth Crappy Gamez Explosion/ I can be exempted from the normal time start?

Overkill

Well, we'll see about a fourth. :D

But, as long you're honest, you can set aside an hour some other time Sunday and send your entry to me. Although, that way you lose the benefit of possible extensions, but that's okay, right?

That's fine. After all, I made PYP in an hour from scratch. (Emphasis on scratch due to it being Crappy, as expected)

Hrmmm.

FYI, I'm hoping for a for-reals-and-for-true HOV when the next edition of Sully is released. I'm not sure how long that'll be, though.

But regardless, is there presently interest in a full-on multi-week little-rpg-making-contest?

Overkill

Sure, why not. Count me in.

I don't know. Maybe. Depends on whether I'm already working on something at the time or not, I'd guess. To be honest after every HoV and hours of tears of blood I swear to never use VergeC again.

And then you announce another one and I'm drawn like a moth to flame.

I think it's the fact that verge is the only game contest place with substantial judgings that are worth reading, even if they are half a year late.

Twas wondering when the next one will be, but until then, CGX is the closest thing to a full-on HOV.

I'll start when my teachers stop piling on the homework.

If it's after April, I'd probably give it a shot. Before then, I'm working and schooling (as opposed to just working), so I wouldn't really have the time to put a decent effort into it.

But hey, if it came along earlier than that, don't put it off for my sake! :D

Hey, it was only the last one that was half a year late! I was washing my hair!

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
