Ive uploaded an update to the verge3 executables and pseudo-documentation.

New EXE
FMOD.DLL
VC function listing
Changelog

Now that V3 has a DLL lets make this very clear. If you upload a v3 demo that uses this EXE, you will stick the FMOd.DLL in the zip. This is not Ika, the DLLs are not multiple megabytes. Stick the DLL in the zip, so that everything needed to run the game is in there. ^_^

The changes summarized are: new sound systems with mp3/ogg/midi playback and advanced stuff support, AVI playback, some bug fixes, some new string functions including a gimpy tokenizer.

This will probably be the last such exe until the real preliminary release with tools and such, unless we fix a serious bug or something, because the map/entity system will be complete in two or three days and then we will begin porting Sully and putting the necessary finishing touches on the devtools and documentation.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Oh yeah, two caveats for people updating from older EXEs.

There are two API changes that are likely to screw you up. LoadFont() now only takes the filename, so you should just remove the width/height arguements. Secondly if your game used sound effects, the format of PlaySound changed. _transcolor also changed names to just transcolor, but Im pretty sure no one used that.

Here's a version of v3vergec.txt that has crs, if your notepad isn't reading it right.

Apparently, IE right-click Save Target As with a text file is bad. :(

Oh and also this version should have a new random number generator. He who has a problem with the old one shall evaluate the new one.

Heh, I had no idea a "transcolor" variable existed, so i made my own trans_color, until now. Oh, and cool update with FMOD. This should be nice :P

Actually, as far as I can tell, the random numbers are still broken. Get the exact same number sequence as I did with the old version. *shrug*

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
