Hello everyone. I'm new to Verge.
Quick question. What video formats does Verge support? AVI? MOV? FLAC? MP4? FLIC? WMV?
I am working on a project (carried over from the Sphere RPG Engine) and am looking to combine a Phantasy Star-esque RPG with Macromedia Flash animations. A Lunar Silver Star Story Complete for Verge, if you will.
I'm fairly good with drawing, especially in Flash, and would like to see what options I have to work with.

Hello, I am not exactly the expert here, but:
For audio: MP3, OGG, WAV, mainly. I don't know about FLAC.
For video: So far as I know, the API supports AVI files. Look at the documentation for more(?) info, and expect a more complete response here.
According to the documentation, FMVs are a tricky area in VERGE, and you shouldn't use too many of them. Also, you should use common codecs to encode movies.
I think I can safely say not to expect Flash support. That is a whole other system and interface. It would be like you had a Mac window in the taskbar in Windows.
VERGE is a special and interesting challenge, but it uses a flavor of C for programs, and sprite and rudimentary shape drawing for graphics. Plus transforms, layers, and filters.

It's totally possible to convert flash animations to AVI (directly, or indirectly, using a screen capture program), although it would be much more efficient - depending on several factors - to create your own flash-like animation scripting mini-engine in VergeC and use that instead.

Marginally off topic:
Anyone here use Lost Marble Software's Moho? It's super nifty, and by that I mean give it a go: http://www.lostmarble.com/moho
It's a vector animation package that's fairly cheap, can export flash files as well as single frames (PNG, TGA, BMP) and whole movies with sound (MOV, AVI, WMV). There's also lip synching and bone structures for easily manipulating characters and other art. All software should be this awesome.
When I get round to using V3's video support, Moho will be stupifyingly handy for logos and brief cutscenes.
