I took the power supply in for testing. Yip, that sucker was dead as a doornail. Bought a better one (still 400 watt, but it was at least a reputable company this time with a warranty), swapped it in in about 30 seconds, computer booted as if it never had a problem. Power supplies are evil.

Yes, make a game.

And power supplies are the most common failure I know of. I had to replace 3 of them in this household in the last 8 months.
