if GrabRegion doesn't pay attention to the Clip region for the image it's copying to, does that mean it's a bad thing to use it to draw off the top of the destination image?

grabregion and clipping rectangles are weird - because all GrabRegion really does is grab the current clip rectangle, set a new one, and then call blit/tblit, and then restore the old one.
GrabRegion is really not meant to be a blitter in that regard, just as v2 grabregion wasn't a blitter. But it can be used as one, so long as you're aware of its limitations.
However, it should be impossible to make GrabRegion crash via clip setting weirdnesses. The main source of 'grabregion weirdness' comes from using animation strips at the edges of the screen, because part of the image may still be visible. If you look at timeless' animation.vc, you'll see what I did to get around the grabregion clipping issues.

Not while I'm around, sonny! Why, even by posting this, I equalize the threat by your pointless post, while adding to my own already gargantuan number.
Also, I need to sleep. The documentation feature is closer, but Thinice and I are exhausted and obviously do not adhere to conventional sleeping patterns.
