Sadly, no, for safety reasons.
But you CAN open a file for writing and instantly close it, effectively destroying the data that was there. In addition, you could also keep a master-list file that tells you which save slots can be overwritten. If you're doing an autosave system especially, only keep so many files.
What way are you storing saves that there are a large amount that need deletion? D:
