I've begun work on the RPG section of my game, and I've run into to major problems.

My battle fade works mostly like I want it too. However, occasionally, I get some kind of graphical error. My envisioned idea was to split the screen into a hundred individual images and have those shatter and fly away. My code seems to do the job right about 80% of the time. The rest of the time, something very strange happens to the original image, and it comes out garbled for the shatter. ((To get to the battle, load the save "Matt 2", then hit "Fight", and proceed through the grasslands and town into the area "town square". It produces a battle. At this point, the "k" key will "kill" the battle, so you are able to exit out of the game without crashing the program)).

The battle music doesn't seem to work. I don't know if it's the file or verge. I'm fairly certain it's not my code. Battle music plays, but is horribly garbled. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Graphical problem solved. I realized that the issue was only occurring when the function that dumps the screen into the pieces was being called under any lucent other than 0. By resetting the lucent to 0 just before the call, I fixed the problem.

Music problem remains mostly unaddressed. As a temporary solution, I converted the .IT file to a .MP3 file. However, since the .MP3 is 1.6 megs larger than the .IT, it'd be really nice if I could use the .IT version.

does the engine support impulse tracker?

Have you tried a standard mod file?

Yes. .IT should be supported as per http://www.verge-rpg.com/docs/view.php?libid=1&section=23.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
