Spram2	Hello! I am Spram, I used to be a VERGEr 4-5 years ago. I still love my old verge games.. Blimpo Warrior... that other one... Tears of Vengeance (Blue_Star helped) and blah. I made a lot of vsp which I still have in my computer, but they're for V1 (the original!) and are lame by today's ping-pow-3D graphic standards... BUT... there is this one game that I lost forever! http://home.coqui.net/mujica/ramon/pr.zip On top of you you'll find a zip with the map, vsp, vc and a pcx of something. Those things and the little car you use to drive around (Rodeo.chr) are the only thing that's left. :( So, me being a dumb-ass that forgot everything about VERGE, I dont have a clue how to make a playable 'game' of those parts! I tried with VERGE, winVERGE and VERGE2, and I don't know what I was doing. I really liked that 'game'. And the favor that I'm asking anyone who cares, will you please make the map playable? The game should start in the only map in the zip and the character is the car. That's all. Use whatever music you want, or no music at all. Do anything you want as long as I can run around the map looking at all the hard work that is now lost.. FOREVER!!!! Unless you help me. :( And if someone does this, then as a token of my gratitude I will upload all the old vsp's and chr's that I still have. Yeah, they're for Verge1 and they might not be as good as the newer ones, but... I don't know. I used to be one of the bigwig hipsters in #verge back in 1998! Help this VERGE 'Legend'. Please?? blues_zodiakos	Hi Spram. :D I remember some of your VSPs. Unfortunately, when I tried to use those files, I quickly found out that they were in the old verge 1 format (at least that's why I think they aren't working for me). It's super easy to make a simple game that loads a map and makes a character that the player can walk around with, but unfortunately, since you don't have the source files for that chr and the vsp, it will be really hard to get anything out of it unless you want to use DOSBOX or some dos emulator that can run the old maped, because you are going to be forced to use verge 1. Edit: Wait.. can't Verge2 Maped convert v1 files to v2? If that was the case, would it be possible to use a windows v2 mapeditor, if such a thing exists, to extract the v2 vsp, then use maped3 to convert the v2 map to v3? Wow. Omni	As a side note, I believe, a version of Aen's Winmaped is on my resources page. Also, on my resources page OR in the files archive, the Maped2 which comes with the WinV2 engines does run quite competently in WinXP and 2000. Posted on 2005-05-03 21:21:19
anonymous	I tried, but no dice. Even tried dosbox. Of course, at issue here is my being an idiot, but I couldn't get any of the old mapeds to run. So sorry Spram. As I promised here's all the Verge1 stuff I had (except Blimpo Warrior, you can get that in this site). http://home.coqui.net/mujica/ramon/tilesset.zip Sorry, I dont know how to make a link, I think I could upload this to this site, but it contains a few mirc quotes from 1997 and 1998 that I took (mostly written by me because I thought I was funny, I was not) and they contain some profanity, so you've been warned! It's a very different game and I havent finished it and maybe never will, but I like it.
