is there a good way to obstruct an entity with out using maped obstructions... but that would have the same effect?

let me be moer specific... is there a way to make it so if a character has gone as far left as he can, he'll stop trying? make it so if he's went all the way left, when you press left he wont try to move?

Uh, well, you can SET the obstruction value of a tile, eg you can dynamically edit the maps obstruction setup at runtime... but Im guessing this is related to the circle thing and thats probably not what you want.
