I'm having a problem with V3 startup, I start it up and it automaticly exits me, do you know how to fix this?

Are you trying to play a game or are you trying to make a game?

Do you get any kind of message when you start it up? Perhaps this:

YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY RUN V3. This is only an early alpha release and lacks any meaningful documentation still. To go see examples of what this engine is currently capable of, go to http://www.verge-rpg.com/ and check out the files section for v3 demos. Also poke around the message boards. And read the README.TXT included in this zip first of all!

Maybe not. Either way, there should be a file in your verge directory called system.vc. Open it up with notepad or another text editor. What does it say?

My guess is, you were expecting a game editor when you ran verge.exe. But verge.exe just runs your game which you edit through other tools(including a text editor with which you edit system.vc and other files).

Start with the FAQ on this site to learn what you need to do to make a game. Good luck.

Responding to that question lead me to the readme file, which I read over. And I realized that the default startup message in system.vc and the readme need to be updated. It points you in the right direction, but it gives the impression that documentation for newcomers is unavailable, when in fact it is available. This probably scares off alot of people from even checking it out.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
