Verge is exiting with this error. What does it mean?

That's a zlib buffer error. Apparently you had either too much or too little data in your zlib buffer (or too little memory on your system).

Well, I discovered that it was caused by having a map with a tileset that had no obstruction tiles (I chose 'no' when it asked if I wanted the standard set, and never imported my own).

I had made a blank map with no imported tiles of any kind, simply so that I would be able to have render() would leave the screen black. I suppose there are other ways I could have done it, but eh...
