At the time of writing it is about 1 AM Eastern Standard Time (GMT - 5). It means the compo started almost an hour ago. Sorry for not announcing it earlier. Anyway, you can start making your games.

Oh, and for those of you who want a fairly stable executable for Windows that has been compiled between now and the 2007 release, please grab this: http://www.bananattack.com/stuff/verge.exe It's not "official", so I make no guarantees, but it should work.

Oh, and if you're interested in becoming a judge rather than an entrant, please get in contact with either me or McGrue. Or leave a message in the talkback here. Thanks.

With that said, I wish everyone good luck! Make many awesome M-related games.

I'm in. I discovered Verge almost ten years ago and I still haven't made a single goddamn game with it. May as well start now.
I'm not using Lua, though. I'm too old-school for that.

Oh, and just so everyone knows, there's a channel called #m on irc://irc.lunarnet.org which is for this game contest. You can also use the Java IRC client if you wanted to poke around (see "irc" in the links for verge-rpg.com above)

Just out of curiosity and to make sure I get my entry in on time...

It's Sunday morning through Wednesday night, right? By my count, that's 264 Hours of VERGE.

Errr, argh, you're right. It is 264 hours of Verge, uhhhm, just pretend that I subtracted 24 hours because of Christmas, okay? :D

Eldritch05

Fair enough. I didn't do any work on Christmas anyway.

I've yet to participate in an HoV with a correctly calculated time window / deadline.

That aside, I do have some serious questions:

  • Have judges been found? If so, who are these unproductive scoundrels charming folks?

  • Is there a set judging system / criteria, or are we just subject to a judge's whim?

  • How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
Verge-rpg.com is a member of the lunarnet irc network, and would like to take this opportunity to remind you that regardless how babies taste, it is wrong to eat them.
