Kildorf	We are currently in the intermission period for the Crappy Gamez Xplosion competition, being organized (I use the term loosely :D) by Overkill. The idea is to have two seperate one hour time periods in which to make a game. Most of the way through the first hour, we all realized just how short an hour is, so thefirst hour was extended to an hour and a half, and the second to two hours. While this isn't an official VERGE HOV compo, nor is it exclusively VERGE, there were a lot of Verge entries in the first compo, and it'd be great to see even more turnout for the second event! The first hour's entries can be downloaded and played here: http://ovk.actionsketch.com/1hrcompo/index.php The second competition block is going to be tonight at 7:00 to 9:00, EDT. RageCage	Big fan of ustor's game! in all seriousness though, orange farmer and thrasher's color games were the best of the 2md competition. I don't mention ovk's 'my two bits' cause I think he cheated >=/ but then... for the first compo, it's all about fly swatter! Posted on 2005-10-10 10:24:28

mcgrue	Interesting little tech demo there. Seems like it could be made into a complete fun little game with a few more similar days of effort, although just wandering around and shooting things quickly becomes boring for the time being. Although I got much pleasure out of pressing the fast forward button and having the enemies rain down upon me like the FF4 flare spell... Posted on 2005-10-11 01:21:09
