Okay, well, I got feedback, but not of the exact kind I was looking for. So, good idea or no, I'll charge forward.
There will be an HoV starting this Friday at midnight EST
The subject matter of this contest will be to create a simple (but hopefully enjoyable) Battle System. This will be a weeklong competition, with another competition following it. These contests will be related, but will be completely independant (participation in one does not require participation in the other).
The specifics for the first contest will be announced here on the main page the moment of it's inception.
This forewarning was given so that those of you who like to have warning, have warning. Gentlemen, form your teams.

In addendum: Midnight EST would be in approximately 30 hours, being the moment between Thursday and Friday, not Friday and Saturday. For those of you wondering.

Seeing as I have a history culminating activity worth 15% of my final mark due Monday, presented on Wednesday, I guess I'll have to wait until the second contest.
If they both revolve around a battle system, I could get started the first week...

From what I read:
One last thing: This next compo will not have a 3-person max on it.

I believe the technical definition of midnight is "the divisor between two days, belonging to neither", however I've seen it referred to as the last moment of a day and the first moment of a day. So it gets confusing sometimes.
"Thursday night at Midnight" should qualify it well enough, tho.

It's the beginning of the new day, because it's 0. That's why 3:00 is 3 o'clock, not the last minute of 2 o'clock.
Disclaimer: I am speaking out of my ass.

As I've said... I've seen it defined in several ways.

I know, but I'm putting forth my argument as to why it's the beginning of the day, and any other definitions are wrong.

I see it as the beginning of the day, because it's 12 AM, not 13 PM.

Okay, this is cute, but I'm going to pull out some links now that people are making assertations whereas I was happy to leave it an unresearched unknown.
Top google result for 'midnight AM'
A little more authoritative with more links within
etc.

This very argument is why daylight saving time begins and ends at 2am. ;)

How many is a pair? If you take a drop of water, split it in half, is it now two half drops of water? Couldn't one argue that infinitly large and infinitly small are actually the same size, as niether may be measured and both simply exist? Can you prove one is larger than the other?
This thread reminds me of (Earthbound I think) where the people claimed to have the rest of the world in a cage, having built a fence around thier village.
Mind boggles. :)
