The site you're presently viewing is on a new server from the one that has hosted verge-rpg.com for the last five years. All glory to Lore, who now joins Locke in the hallowed halls of former verge sysadmin Valhalla! May he bathe in wine and women until he must fight again in the last battle: Ragnarok. Online.
I've just spent a bit of time cleaning up the codebase and making this new theme (which I did mainly to address Zip's concerns about the former default them being not very accessable to low resolutions. Also, it's pretty.) There are still quite a few errors to squelch out, and I wouldn't mind if anyone pointed out any new errors that may have cropped up.
Note, bum urls that start with 'www.verge-rpg.com' aren't errors. The DNS has yet to propagate over here. There are a number of absolute-path entries in the database, and I'm not going to alter them all since it'll be all better in a matter of days.
Sometimes the main content window renders narrow in firefox for some ineffable reason. Anyone who can come up with an html fix to make the main content area always stretch to the full width of the firefox browser window will earn a biscuit: a tasty,
tasty biscuit. Also my undying love.
The most egregious error I know about right now is that larger files in the files section cannot be downloaded right now. I've been trying to work around some limitations for quite a few hours now, but I'm about ready to throw in the towel and re-think the file delivery system... which is fine since the file system was duefor an overhaul. However, until that happens, larger files like War of Fire and Diver Down will be inaccessable. Fixing this isue is my foremost priority with the site at the moment.
I also spent quite a bit of time augmenting and patching up the sometimes spotty sessions system we've been using for the past 18 months. I think I finally have destroyed the problem
Due to spending far, far more time* on things I didn't intend to with the most recent jaunt into this port, I haven't had time to test how the signup system and password recovery jazz held up. I managed to polish those systems up a bit as well on my sandbox server, but I'm beat and am going to bed now. If anyone wants to give them a full runthrough and report errors, that'd be super. To you lurkers that want to sign up right now, well, keep lurking for a few more days if they are broken... the file error is definitly more pressing at the moment.
Anyways, yeah. Goodnight!
*(I've been at this since 2PM yesterday. I have not yet slept.)
