Mighty ustor has blessed us with a bountiful harvest. He may not have finished the much-anticipated VERGE Wars, but while you pine for that distant day when you can blow up your friends over the internet without a DS dongle, keep yourself occupied with these three offerings.
Prismatic Arrows is an interesting puzzle game. The basic concept is familiar -- you have to get coloured shit off your screen. However, ustor takes it in a very different direction, and the result is enticing. This game is a lot of fun, and except for the conspicuous lack of mouse control, the UI is awesome. There are several difficulty levels, and your results are saved automatically. Unfortunately, there is one major flaw: it turns out that the best strategy is to position your cursor in the middle of the screen and hit enter as fast as you can. I managed to rack up 303811 points on Normal this way.
Also by ustor is
Logiquelle, the perfume for Vulcans. This is another puzzle game where you destroy coloured objects, and although it uses the more conventional "match things of them same colour to make them blow up" mechanic, it's still quite cleverly done. It's a little bit random -- you can get within a hair's breadth of victory several times before finally getting the right combination of board-clearing pieces. However, there's a deceptive amount of strategy involved, and it's less of a twitch game than Prismatic Arrows. Also, I have to stress that both these games are
totally gorgeous and have really nice UIs, much better than I'm used to seeing in VERGE games. Also,
unlockable skins. Seriously.
Lastly, there's Reaction. All I have to say about this is that it has the keywords "warning adult naked explicit mature" in the file database.
