I so love email notification. Please add it. That is all.

Seconded! I will bug grue about this. However it may be a matter of whether or not loretian wants the additional SMTP traffic. So we'll see.

e-mail notification for what?

It depends on how often e-mails would be sent out.

I think he means email notification of re:'s to a comment or thread of yours on the forums, which is exceptionally handy. However, definitly not sure how much you'd appreciate the email load.

If you wanna code it, we can do it and see how much more of a load it is on the server.

I would just like to put in a vote for this old thread and feature request since I often miss replies to things since I don't fanatically check the forums

I've been considering this as a thing for some sort of 'advanced' account, but it's a bit down the sheet of 'things to do on vrpg'.

I don't feel like this warrants a new thread of its own, and it is sorta related to this topic, so I'm just sticking it in here.

In addition to an email notification option, I think it'd be useful to have an at-a-glimpse method of seeing whether or not new posts have sprung up in the forums since your last visit. Like make the thread name bold or something simple like that.
If no one else wants this, then I'll shut up, but I'm just sayin' sall.

Not that I want you to shut up, but what's wrong with just remembering the last time you checked the forums?

Hark Ye,

Email isn't the only option, you could run it off of a DB and have the PHPBB or VBulletin style 'notices' when the user logs in/comes back to the site and a popup window prompts them about new private messages, the same could be altered for this situation.
