Finish KotOR! The tutorials dont last long, and then you have to go through not being a jedi for a couple hours, but then you get Jedi powers and the asskicking begins. Especially the Darkside, its the most fun I've ever had in an RPG.

Loretian: Dreamcast binge back in the 70s...
Is there something he knows that I don't?

Probably a connection to a good drug dealer.

Yeah, I definitely am going too. All I've heard is good things about it, and after like 2 years of Morrowind straight, I need a new RPG to get into.

I saw Morrowind on your desktop, and the Elder Scrolls collection as well. It is obvious that you are a master of the series. I am trying to get back into Morrowind myself. I have the problem of getting a ways into it and then being totally overwhelmed and giving up. Any advice on awesome characters to make, or some kind of short-term goal to achieve so I can stay focused?

Haha, well, I'm not a master of the series. I didn't like the first two. The other Elder Scrolls icon is for the editor (which is one of the best 3d rpg editors I've ever used)
The game can be very overwhelming, you have to focus on goals for your character. Usually, if I'm starting a new game, I make it a goal to take over a house and get my own castle or whatever. Just focus on one guild or house, and ignore the rest for awhile. Lots of side quests pop up around you, ignore those too.
Once you're up to level 15 or so, then start on the main quest. The beginning is very boring, but once you get the Biter Bow, it picks up a lot and the game gets VERY interesting.
I've found that downloading the nude plugin also keeps it interesting. I'd also recomend the Real Sign Posts plugin, the bank plugin, and some sort of house plugin.
If you have the second expansion pack, get infected to become a werewolf at night, those quests are pretty f'n fun, besides adding in the challenge of having to avoid being caught when you change forms.

Awesome, thanks. A question, will those plugins work if I have an illegal version..? I assume the expansion won't. Perhaps I should purchase the full game?

The anwser to that question is so obvious it doesn't REQUIRE an answer.
....
Sigh, ok, YES. Buy it, Morrowind is very good and Bethesda need the money.

Bethesda has you idiots that actually pay for the game, they don't need my money! I would rather be a common criminal than lay down 20 bucks for the game! ... OK, maybe I will buy it. And NWN too, becuase I want to try the multiplayer. Actually, thats a good question, has anyone played NWN multiplayer, and is it cool?

Yes, they're pretty much on the verge of living in shop doorways and selling the Big Issue. :P

Buy the game of the year edition, it comes with both expansion packs (I think it's called Game of the Year edition). It's worth it, Bethesda kicks ass, and they need the money.
I played NWN, multiplayer and single player, but I never got into it that much. I hate having to deal with camera issues, and I almost refuse to play games that have any sort of non-minor camera issues (unless the game is so phenomally good otherwise).
Put the godamn camera behind my character. And leave it the fuck there. If it needs to move, I'll fucking move it. Thank you.

My next project is a VERGE game where the camera constantly gyrates and whirls around your character, unless you hold down a multi-button combination. Just thought you should know.

Games makers don't earn half what you think they do. Poor old Interplay have been shut out of their offices because they didn't have the money for the rent. Last financial report I heard about stated they had only just under one mil in the kitty. They're also in a lawsuit with Bioware for not paying them royalties on BG2. That was out AGES ago.

Then for such obvious financial incompetence they deserve all they get.
What they need is a nice relaxing trip to Konami Island...

Sweet, thanks for letting me know. I hope, that after you finish your game, your balls are run over by a train, after having a glass slide crushed inside your urethra.
j/k ;-)

They're not thick, it's just not enough people are buying awesome games, which is very sad considering the amount of idiots buying in to EA's James Bond games.
Which of you lot owns a copy of BG1 & 2? I have both (BG2 special edition with T-shirt, be-otch! ...Ehem) and those games ROCK. I'm also constantly on the lookout for a copy of Planescape: Torment, which is apparently brilliant beyond belief in a sell-your-grandmother sort of way.
