Hi! I'm new around here, Feyr introduced me to this site. In efforts to better understand the game system he is creating for me, I decided to join up and see what its all about ^_^

My name is Stephanie, and Ive heard of a couple of you, but only briefly! So feel free to email me or something .....

Uhm, yeah! Great to be here ^_^

She means the platformer engine I'm going to be building on top of VERGE. I did start writing an engine myself, but I tend to get overburdened with my elaborate schemes, so I figured I'd let V3 take care of the video handling and scripting language so I won't still be in the design phase for the next fifty years. ;P

Uhm, right ^_^;; I guess I still have a lot to learn!

Thanks for the welcome, guys! :D

Feyr, I figured it was a system using v3... what I was impressed by was that it had the connotation that she was the one 'comissioning' or 'designing' or whatnot.

You know, things that require interests that... the double-X'ers generally don't exhibit?

Feyr

Oh, right. I was wondering what was surprising you. I guess I'm lucky...practically all of the women I've hung around with have been gamers (though given my lack of social life in general, that's not saying all that much), and Stephanie wants to work on games when she finishes her master's degree, so the oddity of it didn't register with me. ...that, and I've been awake and either driving or coding for the past 22 hours. =D

Off topic: If you're still interested in writing a PHP wrapper for the DMA class builder script, let me know. I've refactored the output functions so they're not quite so ugly, and made the makefile format more self-consistent and hopefully more understandable. I have no idea what I was thinking with all those different versions of the Init tag. *grumbles*

You can reach me at kevinhobbs@gmail.com if you like. If it's too much of a hassle then I'll release it as a zip when I finish rewriting the docs, and see about learning PHP myself when I get the chance.

I had mentioned my interest in being a game designer to Feyr awhile back, and he offered the possibility of creating a side-scrolling game of sorts. (Im a huge old-school Mario fan!)

When he gives me the go ahead, I can start character design, and do the music for it as well. Im really excited about getting started ^_^ I just hope I can get a better understanding of all the programming he's doing

Hahaha, thanks! I mused over it for awhile, trying to think of something witty, but not too cliche. I looked down at my socks, and I had the answer! I do love nerds, its heaven here ;)

And hi varil! Love your avatar ^_^

Hi there too. My Avatar in no way represents what I look like. It's the family dog.

And yay for the platformer. I also enjoy the escapades of a certain Italian plumber.

Nerds? Where? ;) oh and hi from cold Finland

'Nerds' is far more acceptable than 'geek,' which implies that you bite the heads off live animals. Hit anyone who calls you a geek. Repeatedly.

I give Toen credits for thinking up which avatar was most 'fitting' for me, but put some of that clothing on me and I'm not much from the original.

You said you'll make your own music, do tell about what you produce music with.

I always preferred geeks. For some reason, nerds always makes me think of my little brother (back when he was like 4) eating his boogers. Which was recently deemed a very healthy thing to do, by the way.

Not to mention, I'd never willingly classify myself as a nerd, though I'll happily describe myself as a geek. I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot to be a nerd.

It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
