Really ...sucks. It's nobody's fault, actually. My date isn't the dancing type, and that's okay. But it means the night was pretty bad. I didn't do anything else because I'd hate to go home to my parents and explain to them that I abandoned my date (not gentlemanly). So I ended up just sticking around her and her friends. All in all the night just felt disappointing. It's definately time for high school to end.

I never had a prom either. And, if what I believe a prom to be (awkwardness, followed by guaranteed sex) is true, I wish I had. But maybe that's from taking too much notice of things like American Pie... Still, you people are lucky.

In that case maybe it's a good thing I didn't. I've never danced a single step in my life, and I never intend to. It's far too undignified.

Oh, and I'll definitely join you in your self-loathing. That's one of my favourite pastimes by far.

Really, the only embarrassing thing about acting weird is that people know you don't NORMALLY act that way. So when you do, they see the contrast and point it out, which results in embarrassment.

Perhaps if they are conditioned from the start into believing you act a certain way then the embarrassment will be lessened.

But then I've got no real clue yet. One of the reasons it's time to go to college is because people at high school know me too well :)

And hey! I'm not gonna force a group hug on anybody. But when we set aside our embarrassment and show each other how much we care, that's what makes us real men.
