The obvious request would be tutorials on:

* Tools that are nice to have
* Human figure drawing
* Human faces
* Basic pixel artistry, covering drawing and animating entities and maybe some tile art

Tutorials, huh?

- Tools that are nice to have: Photoshop or Paint Shop, which is really a matter of personal preference. And a tablet, if you're already good at what you do. If you're not, don't bother. A bad artist with a great tablet is still a bad artist.
- Human figure drawing is something you'll need a lot of reference to learn. Really, a life drawing class in college or university is good, and there are quite a few artist reference books you can pick up at Chapters. It's really out of the scope of a simple tutorial, unless you're looking for simple animeish designs.
- Tsugumo wrote a killer set of pixelart tutorials which are pretty much standard. I also ran across this site, which is really ugly but offers some good resources for newbies.

Hmm... this makes me want to get the art/music subsite up even more.

Texturing tutorials!
I don't consider figure-drawing too big a deal since the standard VERGE chr is 16x32. Walk animation tuts might be nice though.

I meant for character portraits and those of us who are 640x480-inclined. Besides, a basic understanding of how the human body moves and fits together would help, right?

You've got your own human body!

Go stand in front of a mirror for a while :)

My body is NOT an accurate demonstration of how a human works.

I have the same problem. However, I could probably learn to draw really weird toons from the study of my own body!

I would suggest using porn stills in place of nude studies if you're shy/poor/whatever.

However, you'd have to o for the more tasteful ones, and try to not get distracted by the fact that you're looking at porn.

grenideer

That's exactly what I do, Grue! Except for the drawing part.

Yeah, people will get suspicious if all your textbox art portrays all your characters as having breasts the size of eastern-european cities and being sat on by girls dressed in bunny costumes.

Interference... That's quite an unsettling insight into your preferences. No more, please.

If my skills aren't too bad for you guys, I'd like to make tutorials too.

Troupe

Here's a thought. Why don't you demonstrate your skills so we have something to judge by other than your avatar (which is awesome by the way ;_;).

Hm. Troupe is always very kind with his criticism.. ;) I don't need your sympathy! :P

Anyways, I don't really have much art now, since the DD art I request from Gren isn't likely to be ever getting to me *cough*Gren*cough*. And my tablet died from the scarcity of AAAA batteries which costs 3.50 a pop. Cock crap.

Here's some of my pathetic art :

And don't mind the txt file. It's a tutorial for a basic C++ course. ;_;

I like your work. And day in flight looks so much like my uncle Dan it's uncanny. :)

Hey, so you can draw! Nice stuff! Any plans to actually work on some games sometime?

I smell deadly sacarsm. :P

The art I posted are all pretty experimental; I'm trying to expand my art by taking on different styles and such.. Maybe I should do more regular/mainstream art to build up my "portfolio" of sorts. Hmm. I need a fucking tablet.

But anyways, I'm alrady on Alex's team for Midsummer, but generally no one wants me in their production teams T_T;
