"Before you (read: whowever is reading this right now) post, make sure......"

An "edit post" option on this board would be just lovely.

Post Thread = Cool guys, look at this neat code I wrote!

Post Reply = Well, you could do that in vc too.

Now where exactly do you connect those two? How is that constructive at all? I could post that he could do it in C or C++, and tSB could post that he could do it in assembly. It's not relevant to the discussion at all. The first half of your reply totally missed the point of his post.

Y'know, the time when Roto was everybody's enemy because of his preference for VC was, like, a long time ago. I have no problem with his reply to my post, so why should the rest of you?

The point is moot. Very moot.

That is all.

Roto

Well, I didn't think people would have been offended by it. Seriously. Lighten up. If I seriously wanted to start a ruckus, I would have tried so earlier and done so a lot more.

Roto

Are you sure of that? *looks at his ten ton piles of VC* Just because I'm not showing what I got doesn't mean I haven't done a lick of work. Since you're only responsing to satiate your need of gratitious ego-boosting (and distract people from the fact that it's been taking you nearly four years just to make a solitary game), I'm just going to pull out of this.

If anyone was offended, too bad. I didn't mean to start a riot nor was I being negative. If I wanted to do (or be) so, I would have done so earlier and with greater frequency.

Just wanted to say something and this is what I get. Sheesh. Makes it all clear why half of the people using Verge avoid the community.

Invi's made a nice textbox in Python, and you turn around and act like it's a pices of crap. Congratulate him, other than say, "Oh! Well VC can do that too! Who cares about Python? blah blah blah" People have their own prefrences, and I see why you like VC. Instead of acting like a jerk, why don't you go on and make a textbox like Invi's and then you can have room to spew your venom.

I guess I posted my reply in the wrong spot, because apparently NO ONE NOTICED IT!!!

Somewhere back up there in this (now way too long) thread I posted that I wasn't offended by your reply, Roto. No big deal.

So to all you other crybabies: lighten up! Like Roto said, if he wanted to start a flame war, we all know he could have. If *I* am not offended by his post, which was meant as a reply to *me*, then no one else has the right to get pissy about it either.

Please stop turning my humble thread into ground zero for a pointless flame war.

That is all.

You know, nothing makes me angrier than flame wars.

I mean, honestly, I look around the boards and I see massive threads of flames, while threads that actually have something to do with Verge (which is the reason we're all here, I assume) remain relatively small. Come on, guys, if you're going to start an argument, do it over something constructive. Look at yourselves, fighting over what, at the core, really boils down to protecting a favorite language. Yeesh. That's pathetic, guys. Fighting over PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES! How about we try to keep the discussion to what really matters. . . helping the Verge community in general. Leave your egos at the door.

CypherAlmasy

P.S. - I know I really shouldn't have any say here, being a newbie and all, but it really irks me to see people argue over stupid things.

Life is an RPG. How much experience have you earned?

Thank you, Cypher. Funny that the newbie is the only one with any sense =P I really wish everyone would STOP TURNING MY THREAD INTO A FLAME WAR.

That is all.

If you didn't understand that what you were saying was unconstructive and unhelpful, then maybe you should just keep your mouth shut. Your 'praise' of his work was simply an afterthought.
You also couldn't be more of a hypocrite. You're the one who resorted to name-calling, and who critized someone unjustly.
To invicticide, I know that you weren't offended by Roto's post. However, no one should have to worry about unjustified criticism when posting about their accomplishment.
...and, you're correct, Roto. I've only released six demos over the past four years. So sorry.
