Again, I've been able to import with padding no problem, so I'm not sure what the difficulty is.

Can we get a headcount of who has the import bugs and the drag-outside-the-map bugs and what operating system they use? im thinking this may be an operating system issue. because i can never get it to crash using the draggable tools. im tried and failed

I have both those bugs, Windows '98.

Also, can I renew my request for the option to display the VSP in maped3 in rows of 18 tiles, so that VSPs created in maped2 are displayed correctly? Also the ability to view them double size or something would be useful for those with higher resolutions.

torin

I have the import bug but not the dragging bug, Windows XP.

Just like torin, I've got the import bug but no dragging bug. I use Windows 2000.

Troupe

Same as Torin and rpgking. XP.

As long as clipboard import continues to work, I'm happy! :D

Overkill

All imports (even clipboard) fail for me, and the dragging crash also occurs. I run Windows 98.

I get the import bug, haven't tried to get the dragging bug. I'm on Win XP Pro.

Maybe Win98 really dislikes .NET.

And now I'm going to mess up the nice little pattern you guys have going, because I get the dragging bug and I'm on Win XP. Sorry. :)

I haven't gotten the import bug but the only importing I've done is appending from the clipboard.

The prospect of an updated maped is actually kind of exciting! Despite a few shortcomings (tile importing wasn't the greatest in this earlier incarnation, either) DOS Maped 2 was awesome. It was like the Impulse Tracker of map editors. It required just enough of the mouse for its GUI functionality, but not too much so that it became cumbersome. I remember sequencing animated tiles could
be somewhat tedious, but not nearly as much as the Sphere editor's, which was a clear example how *not* to design an animated tile GUI - you should take a gander at that for reference in the event you aren't already familiar with it.

Yes. Maped2 is an amazing tool of love and amazingness.

It may be an oldschool application, but I'd gladly do all my verge3 work in there twere it possible.

Here's a new one for you, though it's not precisely a bug. Obstruction tiles can contain various colours, just like normal tiles. Any nonzero tile counts as an obs, but it's still useful for encoding other data into the obslayer. Now, maped3 imports obs tilesets with their true colours intact, but it displays obstiles with all nonzero values white. Now, it's easy to see the thought behind this, but I'd find it very useful if it would display the true colours of obstructions (except colour 0 which is transparent, of course).

perhaps ill add that as an option that defaults to off.

Layers added via the 'add layer' button are misnumbered. The original layers are numbered 0 and 1 as appropriate, but if you add another, it's called layer 3.

Edit Actually, I have it backwards: the two layers that start out should be 1 and 2.

Edit edit: Actually, I'm not sure which way it should be. Ngah. It looks like the renderstring doesn't use the proper layer numbers, but rather uses numbers 1 point higher.

I tried adding entities that are in directories other than the root, and this fails even though in Verge3 you can spawn entities from other directories.
