The Astrad has had most of it's maps completed for years and years. It's waiting on the completion of Sully so it may use those systems as a base (for I do not waste any part of the Bison).

Amethyst has actually had a bunch of work on it since the original demo. There's a lot of new stuff added, game-mechanic wise, that is significantly different than what you see in the demo. Basically this includes unsucking damage algorthms, status effects, a new level up algorthm (with stat bonuses). The equipment had all their stats revamped (casters can no longer be as formidable as meleer's with weapons in battle, for example) HP/MP levels we altered to better suit the "classes", a new learn magic system has been implimented, and a some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head...it's been awhile.

Real life got in the way, and has for awhile, so it's sorta on hiatus. Where I left off at was doing artwork and scripting. A few more sprites are needed, and maps too...that inspirational feeling I usually get when I do mass work on it is creeping up again, so who knows? Maybe I'll get some stuff out soon.

I just e-mailed the guys making The Curse of Dragmoria. Bottomline: First release will come October. I'm sure they won't mind me quoting the e-mail, so here goes:

I have some good news. We are preparing for a late autum release for TCoD. Not the whole game, but the first two chapters. We decided release the game in a few smaller packages instead of a complete release. In this way we can get feedback on each chapter and people will get to play the game sooner.

The first two chapters have plenty of new content and of course everything old has been totally remade for Verge3.

I think we will get the first package released in October and the third chapter should follow few months after that, since its around 70% done already.

I will update our website later this month for further information. We are very excited to finally offer something to play for all of you who've kept supporting us during these years.

Thank you for the support! :)

For the newer people to Verge, TCoD has always been quite a promising game. There was a demo release a few years back, with a couple of hours of gameplay and a working battle engine that had an isomeric view ala Suikoden. It was good.

I just can't take the Curse of Dragmoria seriously thanks to that name. It's like naming a game Legend of the Elfsword, or Saga of the Stars.

I know, the name has haunted me for ages. I've wanted to change it, but I don't know... We'll see in October if the name changes. But yes, it sucks.

Holy shit, Blue Star, you're still doing that!? If you actually finish it you'll be my hero forever.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
