Dude, it might be a good idea to tell people what it is. At the description in the files section could be more than "fixed scoring". I'm not going to download this unless I know what it is.

Also I use ovk for testing. Tends to crash on compile or gives 4 fps. :D

Funny how the compile errors disappear when I comment out your silly flag codes. Also, this computer can't handle 800x600 very well, and lowering the res usuallly has a massive difference on it. Winners use 320x240.

Got me 5079. Surprisingly good, considering how much of a piece of crap I constantly assume this computer to be. (:

Ok.. Last test was 5365. From my original test which was 7000-and-something. Erk? Think that's bad? I was running MORE stuff rather than less in the background! Proof that either my PC exists in a pocket universe where the normal rules of physics do not apply or something astoundingly funky is going on..

Quit your whinin. I said what it was on the first version and I was in a rush when I uploaded the second one. And if you cant figure out that its a computer benchmarking program from this thread, I pity you.

I don't know what a "computer benchmarking program" is. I've never heard of that before in my life. I still don't know what this thing supposedly does (and I don't even see a first version of "Vergemark" in the files section). Well, whatever it is, it is obviously something way over my head.

Actually, the first version was just a few threads below on the boards :) RageCage made a new version quickly.

Although I wish I knew exactly what the score was, if I wanted to know badly enough I could open up the source. It's just something related to how fast Verge performs the actions, and the lower, the better.

I now see the problems of documentation. People are incapable of doing a bit of searching so everything needs to be spelt out for them. But then again, they seem incapable of clicking on links too. I guess it's a good early filter for 'do you have the sense to make a game'. Also, what's wrong with downloading and having a look? It's not like verge can infect you with viruses or anything. Were you having a bad day or something tech?

Obviously the unrestrained power of being an admin has gone to Zip's head... he used to be nice to people, and not constantly dish out sarcasm and vitriol. Same thing happened to Stalin, and look where that went...

:D So, it's better than fruit now, but I still see no gmaz.... Also, sorry for being an evil Stalin, but the docs are making be a bad person... And seeing as only ovk has actually CONTRIBUTED anything substantial, it's all rather frustrating. So I am an admin of poo.

I did download it and run it.

I'm just being a pain in the ass to illuminate a point. That is, we just had a discussion not long ago about trying to make the site, and the community in general, more newbie-friendly. A newbie to this site would have no idea what this thread is about. Perhaps it would have been more effective if I had made my response as a guest.

Indeed, and I do sympathise with your point, but it was a rather odd place to make it. This is just a program for fun, rather than all of the stuff that is in dire need of documenting. But, if you want to help tech, I would LOVE you to go through the faq thread and break it up into questions and answers, and post them in the talkback.

True, but that's not as much fun.

You roxors. Much apreciated. I will categorise these up and answer/bug more qualified people to answer these today.

Okay. I'm off for the day, but when I get home I'm spending all my dedicated free time to answering everything that I can, that hasn't been touched yet.

Also, I'm going to go ahead and do a basic "How to do stuff in verge" tutorial, that will cover using zones, placing entities, setting the player, etc. tonight, and vow not to sleep until it's finished.

I have no clue what you all are talking about! You're failures at being newbie-friendly!
