Vergemark 2

I made a revised edition (aka final edition) of verge mark. The scoring is significantly different so I thought itd be a good idea to make a different discussion as it will not be tainted with the scores of the old version.

And remember, the lower the score: the more you rock... and I'll be damned if anyone gets a negitive score this time!

Scores:
low detail-200
high detail-1176
dyn lighting-460
AI-1468
particles-500
3d-1024

total: 4828

sys specs:
winXp pro
1.5ghz AMD XP
1gig ddr ram
geforce4 mx

Omni

6024, I think. I might have a count of 110 on low detail, and something above 1000 on dynamic lighting. What exactly do these numbers indicate?

EDIT: Wait, I remembered my laptop runs the video card in low power when on battery mode, so plugging in AC and re-running the test resulted in a final score of 3259.

the scores are meant to simply be comparitive. The lower the better. They are gotten through different methods including fps but more commonly through processing time.

Overkill

I believe I have accomplished the new high-score:

35027

*Obviously* my computer is superior.

Jesus! I want system specs! Overkill is clearly running V3 on an Etch-a-Sketch!

I get 7097, although several things are running in the background, including Mozilla Firefox. I'll do a more accurate test later. My specs:

AMD Duron 1.3ghz processor
512mb DDR RAM
Radeon 8500 (128mb)
Windows XP Pro

I get 2440 on my new PC. I guess that's good, huh?

Laptops usually have the processor clocked down when not plugged in too, Omni.

All marvel at my horrid specifications!

Operating System: Windows 98
Platform: Pentium 166 mhz (NO MMX SUPPORT)
Sound Card: Creative Labs Vibra 16
Video Card: S3 Trio (NO 3D SUPPORT)
Hard Drive: Seagate 8 GB
64 MB RAM
16x CD Drive

Lags at Flash, and lack of MMX support screws me over for many features.

Runs MSN Messenger below the minimum requirements. If that isn't sad, what is?

Finally, your moment of zen:

Don't you guys have standards? Isn't that TOO low?

:D

Here in the international brotherhood of VERGE, we're fond of being inclusive, not elitist! ;)

I'm curious about how v3 games (not the devtools, mind you) generally run on Overkill's machine. How do Sully and Timeless perform, etc.

Gayo

low detail-144
high detail-857
dyn lighting-380
AI-1104
particles-400
3d-829

overall-3714

Gayo needs RAM badly. That particle cloud is fucking SWEET, by the way.

Edit: 3602 with Mozilla and mIRC closed.

Eehehe... I may have had fewer extraneous programs running this time round. I think the earthquake modeling and the galaxy simulator were closed, but the find cure for cancer one was still running, and so was the Turing tested AI.

Also I use ovk for testing. Tends to crash on compile or gives 4 fps. :D
