I got an avatar. And all it took was 5 years of work!

It's only 40KB. I could make it 30. It's designed to be usable on LJ.

Tralu... you live? wow... how bizarre...
Anyways, I kind of like the fact of NOT having user uploaded avatars. I think it'd be a more noble idea to have to do something grand- or at least something involved with the community to get one.
Just my 0.2 which probably doesn't matter.

Isn't that $0.02? Oh well, doesn't matter, 20 cents are better.
Anway. Earning avatars is a good idea since it shows who the experienced vergers (for the most part) are in the community. People will actually recognize the people with avatars more, because they know that the people have them are either cool, or just been at v-rpg a long time.
Damn, I gotta make a game soon... Compo ends in 5 days. Better get moving...

Wahey, I'm technically cool. Or something. Not sure whether I'd like to be recognised as a milk-fixated Australian Cattle dog, mind you. My avatar is a family pet, and a very loveable if somewhat surreal one at that. He has ears that would give Dumbo a run for his money.

So...I guess I get an avatar now after the Sully sprite, compo entry, and full game I've submitted? :P

Yes you do. However, I won't be installing Avatars until I'm back at my apartment, late tomorrow night.
I'll be taking a tally of who's done what in the community shortly.

But as more people get avatars, this effect will be lessened. I propose that the most important people should get GIANT Avatars! And the immediate Verge Dev team gets an embedded theme song in any threads they begin.

That would be a cool idea, but I suggest custom ranks for the truly cool people outside the dev team. Besides, wouldn't giant avatars be hell for dial-up users?

I misread it as invectives. And I wrote it originally.
